Home July 27th
It's a wrap, we finally made it home. We left the field in Cloverdale at 7:45am, got to the terminal at 9:00am. We were told not to expect to get a boat till the 4:45. Not much we could do about it but wait and hope for a earlier one. At least the mountain shades the parking lot till well after noon. So the 9:50 came and went, then the 12:10, yay, we made the 2:25. We were home and parked by 5:00 a long day of waiting.
Numbers for our trip.
Mileage 12542.7km
Fuel $6043.83
Camping $2228.79
Animals spotted
Bison 84 plus
Moose 8
Deer 8
Bear 23 + 2 Grizzlies
Sheep 4
Coyote 1
Fox 2
Porcupine 2
Most of these animals, we saw in B.C. on the beginning of our trip. Most of the Bison were in the NWT
The last moose we saw was on the Coq. just this side of Lac Le Jeune.
This makes us shake our heads. There are road info signs that say, call 511 for Hwy conditions. Most of these are at least 100km both directions from any cell service. Good placement guys.
Our new favorite places are Atlin. Skagway and Valdez. We would have liked to get to the Kenai Peninsula but it wasn't in the cards. We are happy to be home though. We have come to the conclusion that three months away is long enough.
Till next time.
