Tesln Lk. June 14th 17th
There is a lot of road construction on this part of the highway. I hit one rough section that sent everything a bit sideways. Tipped all the chairs over in the trailer. No other damage so all is good. Yes, there was a bump sign, all the ones before were fairly benign, not this one. I am paying closer attention to them now.
At one point there were many miles of dusty gravel road, it was quite smooth though. They are chip sealing, way cheaper than asphalt but for roads that break up every spring, it is a better way to go.
Before we got here, there was a lot of rain and Teslin lake is over flowing. As we came through town, we saw many people filling sand bags. Just on the edge of town there are around seven houses that we could see that had huge sand bags around them trying to keep the water out. I did not want to take any pictures of the houses but here is one at the rest stop.
A closer shot of that mountain. There is a view point as you come into Teslin from the west.
The weather has been great 20C or so during the day but down to 3C at night. Lots of sun with a few clouds, they pass over soon enough. It is so nice we have decided to stay another day.
Off to Atlin tomorrow, they say there is no cell service there, so till next time.
